The Chevy Silverado EV Will Debut At CES 2022 In January: News

Meet the new Chevy Silverado EV โ€” or at least its fixed glass roof.

The Chevy Silverado EV will arrive on January 5, 2022 at CES in Las Vegas.

GMโ€™s teasers so far have given a little detail on whatย the electric Silverado will entail. Up to a 400-mile driving range (or more), a ZF-sourced rear-wheel steering system like theย GMC Hummer EVย and up to 24-inch wheels. Now, thereโ€™s another clue in Wednesdayโ€™s teaser, which Chevrolet used to lock in the full reveal date.

Not only will we see all those features we originally covered, but the retail versions will sport an optional fixed glass roof on some trims as its class-exclusive feature. GM says that will save some headroom over a traditional sunroof, but it will also offer up more spaciousness and better visibility, obviously. We also get a slight glimpse into the infotainment layout, wherein the new Silverado EV seems to ditch old-fashioned gauges for the increasingly fashionable, enormous single-screen display. The curved setup seems to integrate both gauge cluster and infotainment, though its tough to call at this point exactly how large the screen is.

Other than that, we know the upcoming Chevy Silverado EV will ride on the same Ultium platform as the Hummer EV. Exact battery size, power and torque specs have yet to reveal themselves. The good news, though, is that we donโ€™t have too much longer to wait.

In the meantime, check out Romanโ€™s first hands-on experienceย with the GMC Hummer EVย below:
